Ezekiel Elliott rushed for more than 100 yards Sunday after being held well below that total the previous two games.

It didn’t matter.

The Cowboys entered the game with a record of 18-3 when Elliott went over 100 yards. He had 28 carries for 105 yards against the New York Jets, but it still wasn’t enough to win.

“It’s just execution,’’ Elliott said. “We’ve got the players. We just have to go out there and execute and go play football.’’

Another hollow statistic: Elliott now has more than 4,500 yards rushing for his career. He has more than 1,250 yards receiving in his 46 games.

The Jets got their quarterback back Sunday and looked like a legitimate NFL franchise again.

Darnold returned to the starting lineup, and the Jets got their groove back, notching a 24-22 upset victory over the Cowboys at MetLife Stadium to give the Jets their first win of the year and snap a seven-game losing skid that dated back to last season. (READ MORE) by Brian Costello | NY Post
