Its time for Colin Kaepernick to fill a starting QB need in the NFL. Kaepernick is a former Super Bowl QB and has been working out for the last three years for a shot back in the league.

If I bought season tickets to the New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers and now even the Pittsburgh Steelers I would want to know why the team isn’t trying to put the best team on the field.

If I was a Miami Dolphin fan or season ticket holder for sure I would want a QB like Kaepernick to build the offense around.

Let’s take a look at the teams right now in the NFL who have QB’s that can’t even take a knee next to Kaepernick.

  • Kyle Allen, Carolina Panthers: 31 career pass attempts
  • Luke Falk, New York Jets: 25 career pass attempts
  • Gardner Minshew, Jacksonville Jaguars: 58 career pass attempts
  • Mason Rudolph, Pittsburgh Steelers: 19 career pass attempts

Let’s look at some of the other QB’s that are playing for teams that can’t win with the current starting QB.

Cincinnati Bengals have Andy Dalton who has shown he can’t get a team into the playoffs, Kurt Cousins was never a franchise QB but time will play him out in Minnesota, and the Tampa Bay Bucs are all in on the worst starting QB in Jamies Winston.

Even the Oakland Raiders should look at Kaepernick with Carr still looking to find a way to out points on the board against better than average defenses.

Phillip Rivers time is running out on him as a Charger and he is another QB that can’t get a team into and through the playoffs.

So I have picked the top three teams that should get Kaepernick on their rosters.

  1. Tampa Bay Bucs – Kaepernick would be a great fit with Bruce Arians and if Kaepernick can get three weeks under his belt it would be time for the Bucs to make the move on Winston.
  2. Carolina Pnathers – Cam Newton looks like he is physically and mentally out for a while. Kyle Allen is not the answer for a team that underachieved over the last few years. Now would be the time for a QB move.
  3. New York Jets – Not sure when Sam Darnold will return but I never believed he was a starting QB in the league. Falk I do believe will be a very good QB in the league and would be fine with him moving forward. If he still needs time Kaepernick is still better than any QB on the Jets roster.

If you still don’t want to see Colin Kaepernick in the league I hear the Jeff George, Trent Dilfer, Matt Hasselback are available.
