Sports That Matters
August 5, 2019
Welcome back, have a great week ahead!
Top Ten QB’s in the NFL
1. Tom Brady
Brady just keeps winning and getting older. Signing a new contract extension and the success of the Patriots gives him my number one ranking. Until he declines Brady is the G.O.A.T even though I believe Joe Montana is close second all-time.
2. Drew Brees
Drew Brees has a chance this year to get the Saints back to a Super Bowl and give him a chance to elevate his all ready Hall of Fame legacy. One bad PI call last year kept Brees and the Saints out of last years Super Bowl we will see what happens this season.
3. Ben Roethlisberger
Ben Roethlisberger has his own team now, with the departure of Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown. Big Ben will have to find his free wheeling style and improved running game to get the Steelers back to the Super Bowl.
4. Russell Wilson
Russell Wilson’s legacy will treat him well but he will never know “what if” his goal line pass had not been intercepted by the Patriot’s to lose a career making Super Bowl legacy.
5. Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers will have to show the recent decline of the Packers success was on Mike McCarthy’s shoulders. Rodgers coming off some injury filled season will have a fresh start to re-energize Packer nation.
6. Matt Ryan
Matt Ryan had one MVP season and one half of a Super Bowl but now has to show he can get the Falcons back to the Super Bowl with the great talent around him.
7. Joe Flacco
Flacco has a Super Bowl under his belt that moved him into the top ten. His decline in Baltimore got him moved out and shipped to Denver. This season will show if Joe is a top ten or out of the upper level QB’s in the league.
8. Andrew Luck
Injuries have kept Luck on the shelf for most of his career. Last seasons performance especially down the stretch with new coach Frank Reich shows his potential to be an elite QB in the league.
9. Cam Newton
Coming off of shoulder surgery needs to settle back into the Panther offense. Newton has brought Carolina close but needs to win a championship to stay in the top ten this year.
10. Philip Rivers
Despite the long career, Philip Rivers has yet to deliver a championship to the Chargers. It could come down to this year or bust for the veteran QB.
