An MRI revealed that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green has torn ligaments in his left ankle that are likely to sideline him six to eight weeks, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Mystery still surrounds the extent of Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry‘s leg injury, but as of now, there is no official timetable for when to expect the bruising back to return to the field, Titans online’s Jim Wyatt.

Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan‘s four-game suspension will cost him $3.4MM in base salary, Paul Kuharsky writes. In addition to the base salary, the Titans also be able recoup part of his signing bonus. Lewan was suspension earlier this week for violated the league’s PED policy.

When Bobby Wagner decided a few years ago that he wanted to eventually serve as his own agent, part of his reasoning was that he wanted to gain some “real-world experience” while he was still playing so he’d be better prepared once life after football began.

And as the All-Pro middle linebacker was negotiating what turned out to be a three-year, $54 million extension with the Seattle Seahawks that was completed two days into training camp, he was armed with advice from a handful of people he had leaned on while representing himself. Michael Jordan was one of them.

Since Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue has held out of camp for four days, he’s currently facing a fine of $160,000, ESPN’s Michael DiRocco tweets. That brings total fines to $248,650 due to him missing mandatory minicamp. The fourth-year defensive end is expected to report back to the team in early August as he looks for a long-term deal.

Vincent Testaverde, the son of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Vinny Testaverde, who was the No. 1 overall pick of that franchise in 1987, signed Sunday with the team, according to sources.

The younger Testaverde threw for 1,714 yards and 11 touchdowns in his lone season at the University of Albany (New York). He attended Texas Tech initially before transferring to Miami (Florida), then Albany.

Cleveland Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam said Sunday that running back Kareem Hunt “has work to do” and that his future standing with Cleveland will be “up to him.”

“He’s in counseling working really hard,” Dee Haslam said. “It truly is up to him. “We have high expectations for our players.”

Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien confirmed Lamar Miller is the team’s lead back but the other spots behind him are wide open, ESPN’s Sarah Barshop tweets. Behind Miller, Houston boasts a large collection of unproven backs looking to make an impact, led by D’Onta Foreman.

Defensive tackle Mike Daniels said Sunday that 13 teams contacted him after he was released by the Green Bay Packers, but Detroit Lions coach Matt Patricia had him at hello.

“Coach Patricia, flat out,” Daniels told reporters, according to the team’s website, when asked why he chose to sign with the Lions.

“He’s just a genius. He really is. He understands the game of football. He knows what it takes. So to be able to play for a coach like that, it means everything. I’m really trying to be restrained right now because I’m so excited. If I could do a backflip right now, I’d do one, but I can’t. I’m really excited.”

Two weeks after his 21st birthday, Malik McDowell bought a Yamaha 4-wheeler to cruise around his hometown.

At 6-foot-6 and almost 300 pounds, Detroit native had grown famous as a football player, first in high school and then at Michigan State. By July 2017, he’d signed his first pro contract, a $6.9 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks, which included a $3.2 million signing bonus.

But the pro football career he’d dreamed of since childhood all but disappeared when he totaled the 4-wheeler in a wreck that remains a mystery more than two years later. The crash injured his head, but others worry it also altered his personality.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Demarcus Lawrence held off on shoulder surgery until after he signed his new deal this offseason. The star pass-rusher is targeting the season opener vs. the Giants for when he will get back on the field.

“I’m not saying I’m going to overload my workload for the season opener or what they want to do with me or have me off the PUP list by the season opener, but hopefully be ready by the season opener.”

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill said he planned to become a better person from the lessons he learned over a tumultuous offseason.

“I can’t wait for my new journey,” Hill said Sunday at Chiefs training camp as he answered questions publicly for the first time since being investigated for child abuse. “I’m excited. I’m working every day to be a better father, a better person, a better citizen, a better teammate and a better son, too, to my parents. I’m evolving every day. Something stood out to me as I was going through this long process. My mom told me, ‘People don’t need to change. They need to grow.’ … I want to grow. I don’t want to change.”

The New Orleans Saints hosted free agent offensive lineman Patrick Omameh. The meeting went well and the Saints signed the veteran on Sunday night.

Since entering the league as UDFA in 2013, Omameh has racked up 56 games in his career and serves as valuable depth on a loaded New Orleans’ offensive attack.

The Pittsburgh Steelers safety Sean Davis suffered a finger injury that could be a dislocation, coach Mike Tomlin said via ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Davis has started 31 of a possible 32 games the past two seasons in Pittsburgh, registering four interceptions and 15 pass breakups.
