The Boston Celtics could use a rim protector — and top prospect Mo Bamba is a very intriguing option. In order to land Bamba, Boston would need to move up in the draft. The big man out of Texas is unlikely to slide past the Magic at the No. 6 spot, per Deveney. But Celtics’ team president Danny Ainge has several assets to work with, including young talent, the No. 27 pick this year and possibly three first round picks in 2019. By

Typically big men aren’t the guys leaving the opposition in the dust on the hardwood, but Mo Bamba is looking like the anomaly. Bamba reportedly ran his 3/4 court sprint during a private workout with the Chicago Bulls in just 3.04 seconds, per the Chicago Tribune. By

With Smith struggling so much and the other backcourt options not exactly flourishing, there is pressure on Ty Lue to try something else, and ahead of Game 3 it sounds like he’s ready to do just that, bringing Rodney Hood back into the rotation. By

When discussing the recent decision to revoke the invite of the Super Bowl LII champions, Kerr said, “It’s not surprising” that Trump would divide people for “political gain” and added that, “we all look forward to the day when we can go back to just having a celebration of athletic achievement.” By KHADRICE ROLLINS

Donald Trump made the unprecedented decision to cancel the Philadelphia Eagles’ scheduled visit to the White House this week, and LeBron James says fans should not expect the winner of the NBA Finals to make the trip to the nation’s capital, either. By Steve DelVecchio

Stephen Curry weighed in on the Philadelphia Eagles being uninvited from the White House during his press conference ahead of Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Curry spoke with reporters moments after LeBron James criticized President Trump and said that regardless of whoever wins the series, no one wants to visit the White House. Curry agreed with James. Klay Thompson’s father, Mychal Thompson, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 80s and early 90s, felt his son’s miraculous recovery was due to a “miracle worker” by the name of Chelsea Lane, the Warriors’ head physician, often spotted by Steve Kerr’s bench. By

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Raptors president Masai Ujiri interviewed Sarunas Jasikevicius for the team’s coaching vacancy. Jasikevicius played in the NBA from 2005-07 for the Indiana Pacers and Golden State Warriors before becoming a coach in Europe. By NBA Media

The Utah Jazz are reportedly impressed with former Duke star Grayson Allen, who dominated during the NBA Draft Combine last month. In addition to Allen, the team has also shown interest in UCLA’s Aaron Holiday, Villanova’s Jalen Brunson and Creighton’s Khyri Thomas, all of whom recently worked out for Utah. They have also brought in Oregon’s Troy Brown, Ohio State’s Keita Bates-Diop and Michigan’s Mo Wagner, so they could also be in play when the team is on the clock. By

If the NBA is moving toward smallball principles and getting away from the idea of the big man, then riddle me this: Why are six of the top 10 prospects in this mock draft power forwards, forward/centers or true/modern centers? Let’s look at all 60 picks in this month’s NBA Draft. By

One intriguing name in this year’s draft is Kansas’ Malik Newman. None of the mock drafts have him being selected in the first round and those that do, have been taken late in the second round. “That I’m only a scorer or that I’m only a shooter,” Newman told reporters at the combine. “That I can’t make plays for other guys. I think that is my ability to play make.” By

Draymond Green the Warrior’s energetic motivator may not be a superstar, but he’s doing his part to turn Golden State into a dynasty. By

After the Cavaliers beat the Celtics 87-79 in Game 7 of the 2018 Eastern Conference finals, ABC’s broadcasting crew lobbed LeBron James a question that initially seemed like a softball. “Two men over there at the table have been around this league a long time,” said Doris Burke, referring to commentators Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy. “They just said at the end of this ballgame that this is your greatest achievement, getting this group to the Finals. Would you concur?” By Rodger Sherman

Nearly six months later, Kerr snapped. In a 20-point loss in Indiana in mid April, the Warriors showed nearly the same level of apathy, sloppiness and fatigue as they had to open the 2017-18 regular season. They were also in the midst of losing 10 of their last 17 regular-season games. So Kerr told both his players in the locker room and to reporters outside that he considered the performance “embarrassing” and “pathetic.” By
